Methanol hydrogen production technology and related applications

Methanol is an important basic raw material for the chemical industry. It is used only second to benzene, ethylene and propylene in the organic chemical industry. It is the raw material for the manufacture of methylamine, formaldehyde, acetic acid and other organic chemical products.

Methanol hydrogen production, that is, methanol as raw material to produce hydrogen. Compared with other hydrogen production methods, methanol hydrogen production has the following three advantages:

1, hydrogen production raw materials from a wide range of sources and low prices, methanol as a common chemical raw materials;

2. High utilization rate of hydrogen element, high hydrogen content of methanol, high energy density and high hydrogen yield;

3. The hydrogen production device is simple, methanol is easy to store and transport, and can be made into an assembled or movable methanol hydrogen production device.

From the perspective of technical path, there are three main ways to produce hydrogen from methanol: methanol steam reforming to produce hydrogen, methanol cracking to produce hydrogen, and methanol partial oxidation to produce hydrogen. In recent years, with the progress of science and technology, new hydrogen production methods such as methanol electrolysis hydrogen production and ultrasonic decomposition of methanol aqueous solution hydrogen production have gradually entered people's field of vision.
